So much for democracy!
After weeks of angry resident meetings, phone calls, and last-minute halts, the city of Santa Monica secretly and without telling anyone moved dozens of homeless addicts into the home on Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica. Many of the people came from out of state, which is a notorious insurance scam called “body brokering,” a type of “patient trafficking” where junkies are paid to fly to out-of-state shelters so the local government can collect huge insurance payouts.
This thing is a scam from top to bottom. At the end of the day, the people in charge of these cities want to hurt the “privileged” homeowners out of resentment, class warfare, and to force reparations on people who have done nothing wrong.
One resident who lives on the same block told The Magpie Flyer, “I passed the property on my walk Friday morning. I saw a van and a rental truck unloading through the alley entrance. I walked around and went to the front door. There were three E-Bikes in the front room. I went home and notified people on the neighbor chat room. A lot of people had already seen what was going on, including the Mayor. Neighbors reported people sending out front with pit bulls smoking.
Very sleazy. The county promised us they would give us notice of future plans–an obvious lie.”
The people behind this scam shelter need to be investigated for insurance fraud, profiteering off the homeless, and for subverting the will of the local residents who, ahem, pay all the taxes in Santa Monica.
