TOTAL TRAIN WRECK: After 30 years and $140 Billion, They’re Finally Getting Around to…Asking for Bids from Train Builders?

Just when you thought this project couldn't get worse, it just got worse.

“The Authority has issued a Request for Proposals, officially soliciting bids from qualified vendors to build the nation’s first high-speed rail track and systems beginning next year.”

What? They are only NOW getting around to doing this? Huh? You mean they don’t already have a plan for….actually building the train tracks?!

We admit we assumed that they at least had already hired someone to do this after the $130 billion and 30 years they’ve had to plan this.

So far, all they’ve managed to construct is a 50 foot section of… raised concrete.

We hate to be cynical, but it’s starting to seem like this high-speed train might not ever happen!

On the current timeline, our great-great grandchildren will be approving new tax increases to help the government finally select a bidder to lay the first foot of train track one day.
